What is SBA?

The SBA is a not-for-profit association formed to address the needs and concerns of small and home-based and micro business professionals. This association is designed to help strengthen and support these professionals as they develop their businesses.

What are the benefits of membership for me?

As with any organization, what you put into it is pretty much what you get out of it! You have the opportunity to take advantage of many or all of our membership benefits to learn and grow your business and share your experiences by being active in our events. People will do business with you when they know, like, and trust you. The same is true of getting referrals for your business. If you want to get more out of your SBA membership, then be proactive and get to know other members, help them first and abundance will flow back to you!"

How often do we meet?

Our Networking Breakfasts are currently held the first and third Wednesdays of each month at a Local restaurant  7:45 a.m. registration and early networking opportunity.  8:15 Introductions, 8:30 Breakfast Speaker. See our events page.

Many of our members hold Seminars and special events as well during the year and these can be listed on our Upcoming Events Web Page.
 

Can SBA help me get started in my new business?

The Entrepreneurship Centre, an initiative of OCRI, provides many courses and seminars to help you gain the knowledge to get started on the right foot. The SBA monthly guest speaker/seminar series is an means of staying current with business practice. It also gives you  valuable knowledge and contacts. Many of our members are prepared to offer professional advice and suggestions either free or at a substantial discount for SBA members. The many networking provide opportunities to meet potential clients and suppliers. You have an excellent resource in the SBA..

Does the SBA provide an opportunity to advertise my business?

There are several opportunities for advertising available to you as a member utilizing our mailing list of people who have indicated an interest in receiving special offers from members (opt-in program), listing your services in the SBA Membership/Business Directory, as well as paid advertisements in the newsletter, including your brochures and discounts in the membership package and announcing your Upcoming Events on this Web Site.

Can SBA give me paid work?

The Association, at this point, is almost completely run by volunteer help. There are opportunities from time to time, however, when we must hire someone for a specific function. Preference is given to members. We support each other.
